Full glass dome compact fluorescent lamp

This lamp consists of 3 things: 1.- The tubular fluorescent bulbs inside. 2.- The glass dome enclosure. 3.- The ballast. I used to think that this lamp was very rare because it seemed that all the newer types now have plastic domes (or don't have any type of enclosure at all), but I found out that there still are some full glass ones... Actually plenty of them. I noticed that after I had already added it to the gallery, so that's why it's here. This one is from around 1996 and has never been used. It might be an early compact fluorescent? This bulb is quite heavy (weighs 15 oz.), so heavy that the box even warns that it "may cause instability of free standing lamps"! It works just like a full sized fluorescent lamp. It uses a starter bulb to light up, and it takes about 2 seconds to do so. I have the original box, and it's a full carton box, not like the plastic boxes used today to sell these bulbs. I hope it becomes a collectible someday!
