This halogen bulb is about 4 years old. It has a thick glass envelope and was manufactured by Sylvania. I like it so much that I used it for this site's background =) And yes, this bulb is still for sale, in stores such as H-E-B for example. This bulb has been confused as being a vintage/antique lightbulb very often. It is simply a halogen lightbulb with a cool design. Halogen lightbulbs are tiny, and they can explode violently. This is why the bulb has such a thick wall. If the tiny halogen lightbulb inside were to explode, the thick glass wall would stop all the flying crystal shards from hurting people.
